Have you ever heard the one about the dog friendly pub and the cynophobic dog allergy suffering landlady? Neither have I. On Christmas eve me and my partner decided to take our 6 month old puppy for a stroll and decided to pop in to the lodge for a pint. Of course it was busy and the more regular faces would be served first by the teenage bar staff. We were approached by the landlady in the hallway who refused to walk past us as she insisted that she is afraid of dogs and has an allergy. We accommodated her requirement and picked up our dog but we were still met with hostile comments encouraging us to leave. She managed to walk past a regular whose dog was 5x the size of ours and didnt say a word! Worth noting that our 6 month old pup was wearing his Santa suit, so not exactly threatening attire. We will never be going back and I would advise the same unless you are a regular.
Great pub that caters for all, whether that be real ale, cider, craft beer, gin, whiskey.....and so on. As well as the great array of drinks, the service is fantastic. Very rarely is there a queue even at busy periods due to the plentiful and attentive bar staff. Highly recommended if youre passing through the village.
Dont believe everything you read in the papers. Try the pub for yourself. Excellent range of beers, constantly changing. Prices as low as anywhere youll find them in Alsager and a great range of snacks too. Staff are ALL friendly and helpful. If you ask to taste one of the beers before you try, they will always oblige. Now accept card payment too. Top top pub
Excellent customer service. Staff most welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about the craft beers on offer. Lovely atmosphere with open fires and great music, by far the best pub for miles around. X
Awful pint, terrible customer service. The staff were more interested in drinking themselves than exchanging a flat sour pint. The customer service I received was the worst I have experienced in 20 years. I will never recommend or return.
